Iowa Crop Damage Estimated at $4 billion

Officials of the American Farm Bureau Federation said that crop damage from recent weather events will cost Iowans around $4 billion. Gov. Culver declares 28 more counties as disaster areas

Late last night, Gov. Culver added the counties of Adair, Appanoose, Audobon, Cass, Clinton, Davis, Decature, Des Moines, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Henry, Jackson, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Mills, Monroe, Pottawattamie, Poweshiek, Shelby, Washington, Wayne, and Winnebago to the disaster list. Has a whole state ever been declared a disaster area?
