Color me surprised (well, don’t) but rumor has it the sweet new drum kit that comes with Guitar Hero: World Tour is incompatible with Rock Band 2 for the PlayStation 3. Wait, haven’t we seen this before? And didn’t Sony say this wouldn’t happen again? Hey, fellow consumer, bend over a little further, won’t you?

Luckily I have no aspirations on purchasing GH:WT (for now) so it won’t affect me. There’s supposedly a patch being worked on due to a “bug” that will be released eventually. I have a feeling this was more intentional than a bug, but that’s just my realistic side speaking… The last patch to make the Guitar Hero 3 guitar work with Rock Band took months, so don’t hold your breath on this one coming anytime soon. It’s things like this that irritate the loyal PlayStation owners (yep, I’ve owned all three and 0 Xboxen).
