I experienced the first real round of unexpected downtime this weekend, and unfortunately I was out of town so I couldn’t fix it at all. I had many speculations as to what happened, ranging from the server went down to the Internet went down. I came home this evening and went to check it out and none of the lights on my router or modem were on, which immediately tipped me off. I looked down, and sure enough, the power strip was off. I’m convinced that my cat was pawing around in the office and flipped the switch, essentially taking me out at the knees. To everyone who was affected by the outage, I’d like to apologize on behalf of my cat Boots.
